EXPERIENCE THE BEST OF KAUAI
If you could combine everything that makes Kauai unforgettable into one adventure, this would be it.
The Kīpū Zipline Safari is our most complete experience, bringing together kayaking, hiking, swimming, ziplining, and cultural storytelling into one unforgettable day on private Kīpū Ranch.
Paddle through the peaceful Huleʻia National Wildlife Refuge, hike beneath the towering cliffs of Mount Hāʻupu, cool off in natural mountain pools, soar above lush valleys on our scenic ziplines, and finish the day aboard our Hawaiian twin-hull motorized canoe.
From start to finish, it's a journey through landscapes that most visitors never have the opportunity to experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The paddle
The day starts on the Huleʻia river, two people to a kayak, heading downstream with the water doing most of the work. This is a beginner's paddle by design, so nobody needs experience and nobody needs to be an athlete. Within ten minutes or so most people stop thinking about their technique and start noticing the tropical birds and the jungle leaning in from both banks.
Into the valley
You pull the kayaks up and follow your guide on a short, moderate walk into a hidden valley, where the trail opens onto waterfalls and a freshwater pool called Pirate Pool. You'll have time to enjoy the Tarzan-style rope swing and splash around in the water.
Across the ranch
From the pool you take a scenic ride across historic Kīpū Ranch. This is the part where your guide slows down and starts sharing the stories and history that make Kīpū Ranch and Kauai, so special.
Movie lovers might recognize Kīpū Ranch for something else entirely. It's been the backdrop for some of your favorite blockbusters like Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and The Descendants.
The ziplines and the Water Zip
Then you gear up and get in the air, flying out over the valley with the ranch spread underneath you. One of these lines is our water zipline, the only one of its kind on the island. It doesn't finish on a platform. You let go above a pool and drop straight into the water. This is the highlight for most of our younger flyers!
Lunch
Lunch happens out here rather than back in a parking lot, your choice of a turkey or vegetarian sandwich, fresh baby carrots, and a freshly baked cookie, with cold water throughout the day.
The walk back and the ride home
A half-mile walk brings you back down toward the river, where our Hawaiian-style twin-hull motorized canoe is waiting. No paddling upstream, we'll take you back.
You'll sit back, take in some of the best scenery on this island one last time, and listen to Hawaiian legends passed down through generations. You'll be wet, tired, and hopefully not sunburned. For many of our guests it's the best part of the whole trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum age requirement for this trip?
The Zipline Safari welcomes guests ages 5 and up. Ziplining itself requires guests to be at least 7 years old and weigh a minimum of 60 pounds, and kayaking has a weight limit of 275 pounds per person. Younger adventurers ages 5–6 can still enjoy the full day — kayaking, hiking, Pirate Pool, lunch, and the canoe cruise, and simply skip the ziplines.
Can someone still join if they don't meet the requirements?
Yes! Unlike our zipline-only tours, guests who don't meet the zipline requirements can still join the Zipline Safari and skip the ziplining portion while enjoying everything else, the Huleʻia River kayak paddle, jungle hike, Pirate Pool rope swing, picnic lunch, and Hawaiian canoe ride back. Just keep in mind the 275-pound kayak weight limit applies to all participants.
What health concerns limit participation?
Guests who are pregnant or have back, neck, or muscular concerns should carefully consider whether ziplining is right for them, though they're welcome to join the tour and sit out the zipline portion. All participants should be comfortable with about a mile of easy hiking spread across the day, including walking on uneven, sometimes muddy terrain. If you have questions about a specific condition, give us a call before booking and we'll be happy to help.
Can minors do the tour alone?
No, all minors must be accompanied by an adult on the tour. Guests ages 5–17 are welcome to join as long as they have an adult with them for the full day of adventure.
