Your Kauai Connection – October 2025

Aloha Ohana!

The pumpkins may be popping up on the mainland, but here on Kauaʻi the only thing spooky is how fast your heart races on a zipline.

This month we’re chasing waterfalls, gliding down the river, and keeping the thrills alive from canopy to coastline. You’ll also find fresh island updates and another spotlight on one of our adventure crew who makes the magic happen day after day.

So pack your sense of adventure (no costumes required) and let’s make this October one to remember—epic views, island vibes, and maybe just a goosebump or two. 👻🌺

‘Iki Nui: Stories from the Island

Waterfalls in Hawaiʻi are more than breathtaking natural landmarks. They are deeply rooted in moʻolelo, the traditional stories passed down through generations. In Hawaiian culture, waterfalls symbolize life, cleansing, renewal, and spiritual connection, with flowing water believed to bridge the heavens and the earth.

On Kauaʻi, one of the most cherished legends is that of Hiʻiaka, the beloved sister of the volcano goddess Pele. During her epic journeys across the islands, Hiʻiaka would rest at rivers and waterfalls, drawing strength from their mana, or spiritual power, before continuing her path. These sacred places were known as sites of healing, refuge, and transformation.

Today, guests experience that same sense of wonder when they arrive at Hidden Valley Falls on Kauaʻi, whether by kayak, hike, or as part of our Kīpū Ranch Safari Tour, where waterfalls, mountain views, and native landscapes come together in one unforgettable journey. When you feel the mist on your skin or hear the water echo through the valley, you are experiencing more than just natural beauty. You are stepping into a living story that has shaped the spirit of this island for generations.

Word on the Zipline

Outfitters Kauai zipline guides at Kipu Ranch in Lihue Hawaii with lush mountain scenery

“Definitely worth it! We did the Kipu Safari and my kids haven’t stopped talking about how dope it was! The guides were very knowledgable and fun. At no point during the adventure did I ever feel like there was anything to worry about. My kids range from 10-15 years old so its hard to find something they all get excited about doing, but this definitely checked all their boxes! If kayaking, zip lining, and swimming at pirvate spots sounds like a great time, this tour is for you!”
