Your Kauai Connection – December 2025

Aloha Ohana!

The holidays have arrived, the island air feels crisp and refreshing, and Kauaʻi is glowing at its brightest. While much of the world is bundling up for winter, December on Kauaʻi invites you outdoors with warm breezes, lush landscapes, and unforgettable Kauaʻi adventure tours.

This time of year feels especially magical. Winter rains bring stronger waterfalls on Kauaʻi, the Hāʻupu Mountain Range looks extra dramatic in the soft seasonal light, and rivers and trails across the island are full of life. It is one of the best months to experience outdoor adventures on Kauaʻi, whether that means ziplining on Kauaʻi, paddling scenic waterways, or exploring hidden corners of the island.

As we close out the year, we are incredibly grateful for our dedicated guides, our trusted local partners, and everyone who has joined us to zipline, kayak, hike, and explore Kauaʻi throughout 2025. Your support allows us to continue sharing this island we love while supporting a locally owned Kauaʻi business.

December is the perfect time to slow down, reconnect, and make meaningful memories. Whether you are visiting Kauaʻi for the holidays or lucky enough to call it home, things to do on Kauaʻi are never far away.

Here’s to a December filled with sunshine, fresh island air, and memories that last long after the holidays are over.

Guide Spotlight

Peggy Sowl, Sales Manager, smiling with a dolphin during an ocean experience in Hawaiʻi

If you have ever reached out looking for the perfect Kauaʻi adventure, chances are you have connected with Peggy, our Sales Manager and one of the first friendly voices guests hear when planning their experience with us. She grew up on a small farm in the Bay Area and moved to Kauaʻi in 1988, where her love for the ocean quickly shaped a lifelong career in scuba diving and water sports.

Peggy spent years traveling throughout the Hawaiian Islands as a scuba sales representative, but Kauaʻi was the place that truly felt like home. Today, she brings that deep island knowledge and passion to helping guests choose the adventures that fit them best, whether that means ziplining on Kauaʻi, paddling scenic rivers, or exploring hidden corners of the island.

As our Sales Manager, Peggy loves connecting people with the experiences that first inspired her to stay on Kauaʻi. She jokes that her job is making promises everyone else has to keep, but our guides always deliver. Her favorite part of the role is simple. Helping guests discover the beauty, excitement, and aloha that make Outfitters Kauaʻi adventures unforgettable.

With Peggy leading the way, every adventure starts with aloha.

‘Iki Nui: Stories from the Island

December brings a quiet kind of magic to Kauaʻi. The air cools, the valleys green up, and the afternoon sun makes Hāʻupu glow like it is lit from within. Locals say the mountain feels most alive this time of year, standing tall over Kipu Ranch like a guardian.

On our tours, Hāʻupu appears and disappears as you move through the valleys. One moment it hides behind a ridge, and the next it rises in full view, dramatic and unforgettable. Guests often pause when they first see it, amazed by how massive and beautiful it looks in person.

This season, as the year winds down, Hāʻupu reminds us to slow down and take in the moments that make Kauaʻi so special. It is a place full of story, and we are grateful to share it with you.
