The Wailua River is famous for it’s gorgeous scenery and history-rich past. Land your kayak in the rain forest and step back in time as you see the remains of ancient Hawaiian home sites. Hike to a spectacular 100 foot waterfall. Cool off in the refreshing streams, or relax on sun-warmed lava rocks as your guides explain the botanical and historical wonders of this jungle paradise. Guests staying at Poipu area or Westside resorts should check in at Outfitters Kauai in Poipu. Check-in for the morning tour is at 7:45am. Check-in for the second tour is at 11:00am. Please note that the second tour is only available seasonally.

This tour includes a great lunch. Your choice is either a Turkey Watercress Wrap (smoked turkey, watercress cream cheese, sprouts, cucumber, tomato, onion, and black olives in a tortilla), or a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap (hummus, lettuce, tomato, kalamata olives, cucumber, and feta cheese in a tortilla). Lunch comes with pasta salad and a chocolate chip cookie. Cold drinks are available thoughout the day.

We recommend you bring a swimsuit, shorts, t shirt, windbreaker or light rain coat, and footwear with aggressive tread for muddy conditions. A sport type sandals with heelstraps or aqua socks with tread work great. And don't forget a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and a waterproof camera. You can buy these items, or rent sport sandals (as available) at our Poipu shop.
